Terminal 4 by Klavis is a quad-channel essential module that consolidates four independent signal paths, each housing a VCA, a low-pass gate (LPG), and an envelope generator.
Each VCA is DC-coupled, handling both audio and CV with precision, offering flexible amplitude shaping and modulation. They feature linear/logarithmic curve options, offset setting, and zero-crossing switching for clean level transitions.
Stereo linking with manual and CV control of balance allows for seamless handling of dual-mono or spatialized stereo content.
The LPG section adds a distinct analog character with four dedicated low-pass gates, each offering three curated presets of typical warmth and organic sound. These provides tonal flexibility and creative coloration without extra patching.
The 6dB/Oct single Vactrol preset provides a delicate yet effective all-purpose embellishment
The 12dB/Oct dual-Vactrol one offers "the" classic and colourful LPG everyone expects, bringing ear-candy to any sound
Finally, we included an LPG/OTA-VCF chimera presenting a 24dB/Oct cutoff for punchy and resonant filtering beyond traditional LPGs
What truly elevates Terminal 4 is its integrated envelope section. Each channel features its own envelope generator with eight distinct templates, adjustable through proportional timing and tailored by linear to logarithmic curvature.
These envelopes can control the internal VCA or LPG directly or be routed out as CV sources for use elsewhere.
Unconnected outputs are down-mixed, respecting a mono or stereo flow as needed. 1/3, 2/2, and 3/1 combinations are handled. Mixing applies to audio but also to external modulation signals and the onboard generated envelopes.
Clipping LEDs on each channel offer instant visual feedback for level control.
For smooth editing, the matching of each pot setting and position is reflected in the nearby white LED, while an animation tells in which direction to turn.
This layered architecture allows Terminal 4 to serve as both a dynamic processor and a modulation hub. Whether deployed as a quad VCA, LPG, envelope bank, mixer —or all four simultaneously— it offers a powerful, space-conscious solution for nuanced control over amplitude, tone, and timing within a single Eurorack module.
